This guide walks you through how to create a complete, professional rider inside Stage Portal. Riders built in Stage Portal are automatically formatted, easy to update, and can be shared with venues in one click.

Before You Start

To build a rider, you’ll need:

 


Once you're logged in, follow the steps below.

Step 1 - Go to Your Rider

To get started with building your rider first: 

  1. Log into your Stage Portal Artist account.
  2. From the top right select your band workspace
  3. From the top menu, select Rider.
  4. Click Create Rider or Edit Rider if you already have one started.


Your rider will open as a structured form with dedicated sections.

Step 2 - Add Your Info and Band Line-Up

When creating your rider you will be asked to give the rider a name, for example ‘local gig rider’, and add any notes about the rider.


To add band members you can then click ‘Assign Band Members’ which will pull them from your band profile.


To add additional band members under general information click the add new person, then enter:

  • Musician name
  • Instrument(s) they play
  • Any relevant role notes


You can then select a band member to be the main point of contact for the rider by editing them and clicking on the tick box. 

Step 3 - Build Your Input List

Your input list tells the sound engineer exactly what needs to be plugged in.


To add inputs:

 

  1. Click to the Audio section.
  2. Add each channel one by one.
  3. Add input type (Microphone or DI)
  4. Give it a channel name
  5. You can then specify microphone and stand requirements
  6. Add optional notes e.g. “Kick needs extra damping”.

Step 4 - Add Monitor Requirements

In the Monitors section, click add and enter:

 

  • The monitor mix number
  • Name of the monitor e,g Drums, Guitar etc
  • Description, e.g. IEM Unit provided, For mix: backing track, bass and guitar only. 


This allows your sound engineer to give a rough mix ahead of sound check. 

Step 5 - Add Backline & Equipment Requirements

In the Backline section, click add:

 

  • Select which type it is e.g. Amp, Cab etc
  • Manufacterer
  • Model
  • Select if it is being provided by the band or crew. 
    Add any additional notes. 

 

Step 6 - Upload Additional Information

The rider creator also has a section for additional information, where you can click on and upload a range of additional information including: 

 

  • Stage Plots
  • Hospitality Riders
  • Logos
  • Links to Electronic Press Kits

Step 7 - Save and Share Your Rider

Once you're happy:

 

  1. Click on the Share option.
  2. Either click the download to download as a PDF or
  3. Click Share, enter the email address you want to share to, the date you want them to be able to access it to and a message. 

Updating Your Rider

One of the big benefits of Stage Portal is that:


If you update your rider once, it updates everywhere.


If you're booked into multiple venues, all of them receive the changes immediately.

You don’t need to re-send PDFs.

You don’t need to check what version they have.

Everything stays in sync.
